Abstract

The increasing accumulation of plastic waste, particularly polyethylene, has emerged as a major global environmental challenge due to its non-biodegradable nature and widespread usage. Recycling through pyrolysis provides a sustainable and efficient alternative for converting waste polyethylene into valuable products such as liquid fuels, gases, and char. Pyrolysis involves the thermal degradation of polymers in the absence of oxygen, resulting in energy-rich hydrocarbons that can be further utilized as fuel or raw material for industrial applications. This study highlights the significance of pyrolysis as a waste management and energy recovery technique, emphasizing its operational parameters, efficiency, and environmental benefits. Compared to conventional recycling methods, pyrolysis offers the dual advantage of reducing plastic pollution while generating renewable energy resources, thus contributing to the circular economy. The findings underscore pyrolysis as a promising pathway toward sustainable plastic waste management and energy recovery.
