Essential oils (EOs) are concentrated, volatile liquids that are extracted from various plant sections. Terpenes and terpenoids in particular have a variety of medicinal properties, including being anticancer, antibacterial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and antiallergic. The research that is now available suggests that EOs have antifungal which is thought to have a substantial potential application in the pharmaceutical sector. Therefore, the objective of this review is to give a summary of what is currently known about EOs for use in the pharmaceutical and medical industries.
