The Battery Management System (BMS) is a critical component of an Electric Vehicle (EV) that ensures the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the battery pack. The BMS continuously monitors important battery parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, State of Charge (SOC), and State of Health (SOH). It protects the battery from overcharging, over-discharging, excessive current, short circuits, and abnormal temperature conditions. This project presents the design and analysis of a BMS for an electric vehicle battery pack. The proposed system uses voltage and current sensing, temperature monitoring, SOC estimation, cell balancing, and protection algorithms. The performance of the system is evaluated under different charging and discharging conditions. The results demonstrate improved battery safety, balanced cell voltage, accurate SOC estimation, and effective thermal monitoring.
